Successful Start-Up

Successful (Low-Tech, High-Touch) Start-Up

Defense Camp (Recommendation) July 3 to July 19 and August 1 to August 8.
The Defense Camp provides an exclusive and accelerated environment for a limited number of defensemen and longstick middies to learn their positions through a focused curriculum and individual instruction. The small size of each session guarantees maximum, one-on-one coaching to help position the lacrosse player for success in high school.

All aspects of longstick play are covered over three days. Concepts include footwork, stick skills, functional athletic training,  communication, clearing, transition, checks, Lax IQ and stick maintenance. Optional sessions for parents and players include personal experiences and success Cooper has had with leadership, teamwork and his Top 10 keys to success to compete successfully in the classroom and on the lacrosse field.

Coaching
The Defense Camp is run by Cooper Charlton. Charlton, currently enrolled at The University of Michigan, earned an athletic scholarship to play lacrosse for the Wolverine's. Cooper was a four-year, two-sport Scholar-Athlete in high school. He is a product of the Hudson Community Education and Recreation boys lacrosse camps, the Hudson Youth Lacrosse Program throughout grade- and middle-school years and Greater Cleveland Lacrosse teams during the summers. He was selected by US Lacrosse as All-American and won spots two summers in a row on The Midwest Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Team.

The defense camp is specifically designed to be a small camp for longstick middies and defensmen. Having attended many camps with hundreds of players and only a handful of coaches, Cooper never consistently received the individual attention he needed during these key development years. The Defense Camp is set up to provide six players the opportunity to maximize time spent with Cooper for one-on-one, individual attention and instruction.
